Overland Health was established in 2009 as a green-fields company with a completely new vision for serving the rehabilitation market. Although vision itself was not radical – to provide rehabilitation according to the tenets of the biopsychosocial model of rehabilitation - actually bringing this approach to life required a new kind of business with a neutral perspective on clinical capabilities and the technology to create a single platform for occupational rehabilitation, mental health and physical therapies.
The vision is to reject the traps into which rehabilitation companies have traditionally fallen, i.e., paper-based or antiquated systems, a "silo" approach based on professional disciplines and a cost-plus business model with a incentives to over-servicing. By contrast, we are committed to:

David started the Overland group in 2006 with a particular focus on building retail professional networks in the health sector. In 2009 he began building the team needed to enable Overland Health to enter the rehabilitation market.
Prior to Overland, David’s professional background was in law and management consulting. David has a BA (majoring in economics) and an LLB with First Class Honours from Melbourne University. After law school he worked as a solicitor at Arthur Robinson & Hedderwicks in Melbourne. David then completed a Masters of Law at Harvard after which he joined McKinsey & Co. in 1992, working in Australia and London.
In 1998 David left McKinsey after 6 years. Together with colleagues to found GF-X (Global Freight Exchange), a platform for buying and selling air freight capacity online. GF-X shareholders included BA, Air France, Lufthansa, American Airlines, Deutsche Post, Kuhne & Nagel, Panalpina and Morgan Stanley. GF-X was sold to Descartes (NASDAQ: DSGX) in 2007.

Mark is the force behind Overland Health’s implementation of a new vision for rehabilitation services.
Mark has been working in and around the insurance industry since joining Sun Alliance in 1979. The main focus of his career has been claims management and rehabilitation. Before joining Overland Health Mark held a wide-range of positions including:
Mark holds an undergraduate degree from Durham University and a B.Sc. from Nottingham University majoring in workplace health.

David provides a link between the clinical, operational and business development arms of the business to ensure that a focus on quality is maintained. He is also responsible for developing our service portfolio to meet the changing needs of the market and our customers.
Prior to joining Overland Health, David occupied a senior role in Rentokil Initial until 2005 when he took a year-long career break to walk coast-to-coast across the USA in support of Cancer Research. On his return he worked in a business development role in the medico-legal industry which he left to help set up Overland Health in 2009.
In his spare time David enjoys live music and plays guitar in several bands. He enjoys watching sport and is a beleaguered supporter of Leeds United.

Ben has been with Overland since the start of the company in 2006, performing many roles as the company has grown. He now focuses his efforts on making Overland Health the most technologically innovative and advanced health care company in the UK.
Prior to joining Overland Health, Ben was a senior manager with a technology exhibition and conference company in London, and business manager with an online brand management company in Australia. He holds a Marine Biology Degree, Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from SDA Bocconi and University of Western Australia and is PRINCE2 certified.
