Our experience working within the medico-legal sector means that we employ a methodology that works carefully within the guidelines of the Rehabilitation Code to ensure that you receive swift interim payments from the third party.

The Rehabilitation Code

The inclusion of the Rehabilitation Code in the CPR protocols means that solicitors have an obligation to consider as early as possible whether the claimant has reasonable needs that could be met by rehabilitation treatment.

It shall be the duty of every claimant's solicitor to consider, from the earliest practicable stage, whether it is likely or possible that early intervention, rehabilitation or medical treatment would improve their well-being.
The Ministry of Justice CPR Rehabilitation Code

The Rehabilitation Code is recognised by insurers and is designed to ensure that the claimant's quality of life is paramount in the claims process. If you are not currently offering your clients rehabilitation as part of your medico-legal service you need to consider how this may affect your business in the coming year.

Offering you a hassle-free solution to rehabilitation

Organising treatment can be complex and time-consuming. Overland Health offer you a tailored service covering all aspects of the rehabilitation process which will leave you free to concentrate on the your areas of expertise.

We can guide you through the process to ensure that you are fulfilling your obligations, offering your clients the best possible service and recovering treatment fees at an early stage. We will arrange the rehabilitation case management, leaving your case-handlers free to concentrate on other aspects of your caseload.

Overland Health can arrange all types of rehabilitation, ranging from the treatment of whiplash-type injuries to complex or catastrophic injuries.

The most common treatment required by personal injury claimants is physiotherapy. This is what Overland Health specialises in, offering.

  • Standardised fees
  • A comprehensive national panel
  • Convenient locations and out-of-hours appointments to suit your claimants
  • A fast-track service designed not to delay the conclusion of the claim
  • Excellent clinical standards
  • Delayed payment options

  • Detailed management reporting to meet you requirements

How does it work?

We will work with you to create a rehabilitation protocol that suits your business. A typical protocol might be as follows:

  • You instruct us on each PI case as soon at the same time as you instruct a medical expert (we can help you set up electronic links to automate this process)
  • We will contact the claimant by telephone to undertake a telephone assessment designed to aid the diagnostic process and ascertain whether the claimant would benefit from an in-person assessment from one of our rehab practitioners.
  • Should our doctor recommend this to be the case we will contact the claimant to arrange for this to happen as soon as possible at a convenient time and location
  • The practitioner will complete an Initial Assessment form detailing the claimant's injuries and, where applicable, recommending a course of treatment.
  • You send the Initial Assessment form and treatment invoice to the referring solicitor
  • Your referring solicitor requests an interim payment from the third party to secure funding for the treatment (we will guide you through this process and provide you with all the information and correspondence necessary)
  • On the completion of treatment, the practitioner will complete a discharge form which can be submitted to the third party and also made available for comment by your expert in their report
  • Once the treatment has been completed we will invoice you at a fixed national rate for the cost of the treatment

Talk to Overland Health about what we can do to improve the service you give to your clients and add value to your business. We would be delighted to discuss the options available to your business.
