Nationwide Networks

We recognise the value of being able to offer appointments at times, and in locations, that are convenient to patients, and we work closely with our panel to ensure that patients’ needs are met. We refer to over 1600 musculoskeletal locations throughout the UK and commit to 90% of appointments being made available within 5 miles of a patient’s address. Network practitioners are managed to deal effectively with referrals for workplace health and accident rehabilitation.

A Biopsychosocial Approach

Our methodologies in the coordination and governance of physical therapies complement our broader aspiration to offer a truly biopsychosocial approach. Practitioners are asked to comment on potential non-physical barriers to a return to work or function which can then be addressed by our clinical team.

Evidence-based Musculoskeletal Assessment Tools

Our physiotherapy rehabilitation panel is measured against internationally recognised, evidence-based assessment tools. All assessment forms are completed online and data from these forms is drawn into our central database for review. Online reporting ensures uniformity in approach for physical therapies.

A Full Range of Physiotherapy Services

Nationwide Physiotherapy Network - has dense coverage across all regions of the UK. Home visits and specialist treatments can also be arranged in most cases.

Telephonic triage – effectively filters patients to the most suitable form of treatment.

Remote treatment programmes – can prove cost-effective for minor injuries where face-to-face assessment or treatment is not always required.

Robust Physiotherapy Governance

Our governance protocols are passed by our clinical board. Physiotherapy policies are directed by our Consultant Physiotherapy Head, Gordon Bosworth. Gordon is widely respected amongst his peers. He has many years of experience consulting to the private sector and insurance markets as well as to several Premier League football clubs.

Adherence to Internationally-recognised Standards

Overland has adopted the standards of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (WCPT) as its over-arching principles of governance.

Adherence to these standards is a statement of intent regarding the quality that we expect from our practitioner panel. They provide the foundation for the assessment of physical therapy practice and represent our commitment to promote optimal health and function in individuals by pursuing excellence in practice.

Random audits are carried out to ensure these standards are met. The content of these audits are dictated by WCPT and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (a member of the WCPT) standards.

Although the vast majority of our physical therapy referrals are to physiotherapists, we have a combined panel of over 800 locations for chiropractic and osteopathic practitioners to ensure that these treatments are available where required.
