Remote Physiotherapy Programmes

Overland offer remote assessment and treatment of minor musculoskeletal cases. Our telephysio team use standard assessment tools which allow them to make reliable recommendations on treatment provision.

For many cases in the acute stage of injury, for example less severe whiplash injuries, face-to-face treatment is not always required. It is essential for effective recovery that the injured party commits time to self-management. Our assessment tools can direct less severe cases to a remote programme of advice and exercise to enable this self-management.

Remote Physiotherapy Triage

Triage services can be accessed by instruction of an injured party, by use of our Freephone helpline or, where requested, by accessing our diagnostic tools online.

Triage can either lead to referral to face-to-face assessment, referral to our telephysio team for minor cases, or referral to our clinical team where red flag issues are highlighted.

Our triage services enable early intervention and ensure that injuries can be dealt with expediently and expertly.

Remote Physiotherapy Treatment Programmes

Where it is determined that an injury is not severe enough to warrant face-to-face assessment, we can offer a structured programme of advice and exercise. 

Tailored exercise programmes can be delivered to injured parties online or via post. These programmes contain video demonstrations of appropriate exercises and alleviation techniques and clear narrative to ensure that self-management can be undertaken safely and effectively.

On-going Remote Supervision

The injured party will be monitored throughout the programme to ensure progress and can be referred back into the traditional treatment pathways where required. Our telephysio staff are trained to ensure that injured parties are best equipped to self-manage wherever possible but our nationwide network of physiotherapy clinics ensures that referrals can be made quickly and conveniently for face-to-face assessment where required.
