A vocational rehabilitation assessment is used to analyse an individual’s current skills and experience, set vocational goals and outline potential job options.
The assessment takes into account the individual’s functional and work capacity and identifies transferable skills.
It can involve screening and assessment with the worker for the purpose of identifying vocational options and strategies to achieve these goals. This often includes identifying suitable and realistic vocational options considering the workers condition, functional capacity, transferable skills, employment history, qualifications, interests and aptitude and pre-injury earnings.
It also includes an assessment of labour market information.
If it is identified that the worker may need re-training to allow them to gain necessary skills to fulfil the new vocational goal and be competitive when job seeking, Overland Health will research appropriate training options. Pending insurer/employer approval, Overland Health may arrange the training for the worker through our associated providers.
A comprehensive report outlines the person’s vocational options, retraining needs and a labour market analysis.
